Varsity Head Coach Phillip Rogers
Coach Rogers is in his 8th year with the Blue Devil Baseball coaching staff. He is a native of Loganville, Georgia where he was a standout baseball and football player for Loganville High School. Playing both Catcher and Outfield in high school, Coach Rogers was named team captain during both his junior and senior years. His junior year, the Red Devils made it to the Elite 8. During Coach Rogers’ senior season at LHS, the team went 31-6, which included a 28-game winning streak that ended in the Semi-final round of the GHSA playoffs and they finished the season as State Runner-up. Following high school, Coach Rogers attended Georgia College and State University where he played baseball for two years until a shoulder injury cut his career short. After this injury, he transferred to the University of Georgia where he walked on to the football team as a punter and graduated with a History degree in May of 2007. After completing his undergraduate degree at UGA, Coach Rogers returned to Loganville High School where he coached baseball for three years. During those three years, LHS won the 2008 AAAA Baseball State Championship, went to the 2009 Final Four, and then the 2010 Sweet Sixteen. In May of 2010, Coach Rogers completed his Masters of the Art in Teaching from Georgia College and State University while coaching and student teaching at LHS. Coach Rogers is in his ninth year at Marietta High School where he teaches World History and U.S. History in the Social Studies department. Coach Rogers is married to MHS alumna, Laura Holt Rogers. They are proud parents to their three children, Holt, Anna Katherine, and Lucy Gray Rogers. He is proud to lead the Blue Devil Baseball program and is excited to see where the program is headed. Coach Rogers will be the Varsity Head Coach and working with the hitters and outfielders.
